This elegant Swede, who has lived in two of the world’s fashion capitals – Rome and Manhattan – is a longtime fan of Shepherd’s. Monica was delighted to discover Shepherd’s in 1978 on her first go-round in Ottawa, when it was just a tiny accessories kiosk on Sparks Street. “I still have a drawer full of the hair bows I bought then and they’re still very much in style,” she says. Monica is unabashedly enthusiastic about Shepherd’s fashions and happy to be sharing her fashion sense with its clientele. “Marlene Shepherd has a wonderful eye,” she says. “The success of Shepherd’s lies in the unique little pieces she buys that fit together so well.”
