Sam Poole landed in Ottawa in February ’08 with a wealth of experience in high-end retail fashion. She quickly discovered Shepherd’s. “I liked its collections, its independence, its service,” says the U.K. émigré who owned her own successful business prior to joining the independent U.K. fashion house that was named Retailer of the Year. The art of determining body shape is among several European-influences Sam is introducing into Shepherd’s. “It’s an invaluable skill that really works to get the right collection on the right body type,” she says. “Once you know how to do it, it all comes together beautifully.” The U.K.’s loss is, decidedly, Ottawa’s gain. |
