It feels like only yesterday, we were celebrating the opening of Shepherd's first temporary Pop-up Shop, at Kanata's Tanger Mall. Our short-term, 10-month lease is over, and we are at the end of our wonderful west-end adventure.

Popping-up is Quite an Undertaking
After all of the planning, prepping, designing, buying and training, one gets an appreciation of how much organization goes into creating a temporary Pop-up Shop.

An Opening Day Filled with Fashion and Fun
Clients who came to help us celebrate were treated with cookies and cake, beautifully displayed collections and informal modeling. We were so lucky to have opened at the same time as the whole Tanger Mall. The buzz was brilliant!
A Visit from Murphy
On the technical side of things, Murphy's Law prevailed on our opening day. Unresponsive software made us go the old fashion route using a pen and paper, and the old "click-click" credit card machines. Then, a water-main erupted and flooded our backroom. Undaunted, the Tanger team rolled up their sleeves, filled bucket after bucket with water, and mopped like Cinderella on steroids.
Building a Team though Work and Play
Working side-by-side each day, the team quickly formed and were able to play off each other's strengths. Darlene became the go-to Ms. Fix-it, Janice treated the girls to stories for all occasions, Cinzia could bust-a-move when the timing was right, Ana quickly got the nickname the Tasmanian Devil, Melanie was the in-house vintage expert, Brynn became like a daughter to the team, Jill was continually mistaken for Marlene Shepherd, and store manager, Veronica was the crazy glue that held them all together. With the temporary contracts completed, we have sadly said good bye to some but, are so pleased to be able to welcome Veronica, Lorraine and Janice at our Rideau store and, Cinzia and Ana at our Train Yards location.
With our temporary Pop-up popping-down, we want to say thank you to our amazing expert consultants, and our valued customers. We cherish the wonderful time we spent at Tanger, and we are looking forward to seeing you at our recently renovated Rideau Centre store, and our flagship location at the Ottawa Train Yards.
