Meeting the one is now easier than ever - as long as you have access to wifi!
The world of online dating is rapidly growing, whereby more and more singles are meeting their significant other through online profiles. Marlene and Kathie brought Marion Balla - President of the Adlerian Group - to talk about online dating.
The new environment has both its pros and cons. For many introverted personalities, the online datings sites offer an alternative to meeting new people in a comfortable setting, instead of feeling pressure to go to bars and clubs they may otherwise not go to. On the flip side, online dating is more susceptible to more rejection and judgement. Because of this, many try to sell themselves and present their "best self" - that could mean posting a younger photo or inflating the truth about your interests. When singles engage in these habits, they are more likely to be rejected upon their initial dates.
So what to do? Try to ask yourself; "what am I doing this for?" If it is to successfully find your significant other, then present yourself in your truest form - who you are, in the moment. When you do this you'll find the person who will be attracted to who YOU are, not to who you wish you were.
