The easiest way to add interest and personality to a look is by adding a necklace! This accessory can also double as a body shaping tool as it creates a focal point on the torso, directing the eye to where you want to go. On the following pictures, you’ll notice how different necklace lengths give different effects. I’m wearing my basic separates from the Sympli collection which provide the perfect backdrop for a touch of accessorizing. Let’s start on the right foot with this first picture! You’ll notice how this metallic pendant adds a touch of brightness as it accentuates the face and neck. Love how the open space between the disks on the pendant is visually light.
Here’s an example of a great neckpiece - modern and sophisticated in its styling – that does bring the eye up to the face - expect that is too short for me, resulting in it widening my neck and face. A definite “necklace no-no”!
A mid length necklace can be tricky – as it often falls right at the bust line. These front and side views, illustrate how these neckpieces brings the eye right to the bosom. Chesty Girls, Beware!!!
Of course, a longer necklace will elongate the silhouette most, which is why we love to use it in body shape!! Wear it proportionately to your height. For maximum impact, ensure it falls about an inch above your belly button - (or 2.5 cm, apologies ladies... as child of the 60’s I have yet to fully get on board with the metric system).
As an added benefit, this pendant provides a strong V shaped line on the torso which counters the round neckline from the Sympli tunic. (As Yours Truly has a wide rounded face, this V line is very welcomed indeed!!!).
Hope these tips have been helpful!!! We welcome your comments and ideas for future blog posts!!!
