Shepherd's Rideau new store manager, Veronica, talks structure and shape.
"No two days in retail are alike, and I love that," states Veronica Schambers. After managing the Shepherd's Tanger Pop-up Shop, she is "absolutely thrilled" to take over managerial duties at Shepherd's Rideau on August 1, 2015.
Not one to shy away from change or challenge in her professional life, this "classic to the core" has an affinity for specific cuts of clothing, from which she rarely wavers. "The most important element I look for [in clothing] is structure. Fitted and tailored styles suit both my personality and shape. I tend to stay away from excessive fabric and billowy shapes."
While keeping these guidelines in mind, we styled our 'Classic' in items that may be a touch out of her comfort zone. Although a little scary, Veronica was a good sport and ended up thoroughly enjoying the experience of modeling the shapes and shades of Fall 2015.
A Classic's Security Blanket
"Jackets are my golden pieces. As soon as I put one on, I feel fully dressed and ready to take on whatever my day brings. It's a security blanket of sorts."

A Classic's Creative Spirit
The Classic personality can, at times, be persuaded to try a print other than a fine stripe or tiny polka dot; possibly even an abstract painterly print, such as the one on this soft flowing tunic. The key is to ensure that the print does not take over the look. Mission accomplished!

Playing Up One's Best Assets
Veronica's warm and engaging smile is among her best features. She also knows how to dress to flatter her pear shape, which means accentuating her narrower shoulder line and camouflaging her fuller hips. In this instance, the cowl neck tunic and and longer, zigzag hem is drawing the eye up, while the slim leg, black jeans and same colour boots are slenderizing the bottom half of the silhouette.

Oak Buff, also known as tan, is an earthy, natural neutral that exudes warmth and security. Combine this star neutral with black for "effortless sophistication", two words that a Classic lives by!
