(October 17) A walk through the garden turns into a strut on the catwalk - Tele30 offers quality TV shows that are of relevance and interest to the Canadian-Italian community, and in an effort to purchase new filming equipment, planned an al fresco fashion show at the Italian Embassy. When their show was cancelled in honour of the Italian day of mourning for the victims of the earthquake that shook central Italy, Shepherd's invited the Tele30 team to move their fundraiser to the Shepherd's catwalk. As the ladies modelled, the men were put to task serving aperitivo, antipasti, and dessert. Viva la dolce vita!
(October 18) Believe, Belong, Become - It would not be Fall at Shepherd's without an evening with the ladies from Orleans United Church. We have come to know and love many veteran models and cheering audience members, all of whom are busy bees, organizing pancake breakfasts, home and gardens shows, design workshops, and bazaars!
(November 7) A Night of True All-Stars - The Condors FUNraiser was an excellent evening pulled together by a wonderful group of volunteers, including Condors players who hosted and ushered and made the evening so much more memorable. Funds from this evening's event were donated to the project aimed at having the Condors play at the USA Hockey & Hockey Canada event in California.
(November 5) A time-honoured and vibrant institution - Founded in 1898 by Lady Aberdeen, the wife of the Governor General, the May Court has been providing volunteer services and financial assistance for 118 years to help those in need in the Ottawa community. It's membership is comprised of women, all of whom are dedicated to the ideals of the May Court.
(November 22) Trustworthy and dedicated - The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa West chose to donate the funds from their FUNraiser to Orkidstra, an organization that aims to give children from under-served communities the opportunity to learn and make music together.
